Pryda - Lycka
Artist: Pryda
Track: Lycka
Label: Pryda
Well well well. It's been some time since the last post and I must apologize. Between catching quite an illness, traveling, shows, holidays and work I haven't had a tremendous amount of time to listen to music, or good music atleast recently. I think my main issue is I was getting jaded and complacent with the state of current dance music; extremely formulaic and typical. It became a concern when my favorite trance DJs started changing styles to "progressive house" and I'll admit even I got caught up in the fever that is "big room house". If you notice towards the end of last year I'm struggling a bit to find and post good, new music. Eevn my last post before this one seems a bit trite and generic now that I go back and listen to it. Well it took a godsend in the form of Eric Prydz to snap me out of it and get me to post again. So here is it, and hopefully the resurrection of a new, and improved Audio Aesthetics, the new Eric Prydz.

Martin Garrix & Jay Hardway - Wizard
Artist: Martin Garrix & Jay Hardway
Track: Wizard
Label: Spinnin
Riding high on the success of "Animals", Martin Garrix's releases a new one with much of the same energy and appeal. I wish tracks like these were release more towards the summer time, maybe in April, to get everyone ready for festival season. Living in NYC and a cold weather, winter climate, tracks like these remind me of being outdoors in the sunshine at the main stage. Another thing is that some times I wish it was okay to wear a bathing suit around all day comfortably. It's not really fair that women can wear bikini tops all day at a festival and it's socially acceptable as actual clothing, but if you rock a pair of board shorts all day at a show it's definitely kind of weird and uncomfortable. That is all.

Chase & Status ft. Moko - Count On Me
Artist: Chase & Status ft. Moko
Track: Count on Me
Label: Mercury
There really is nothing like a Chase & Status record. Their last album "No More Idols" is most definitely (in my opinion) in the top 100 electronic albums ever made and this little diddy is their lead single of their new album "Brand New Machine". It is phenomenal. If you were a fan before I beg you to check it out on Spotify or download it in ITunes. There are very few groups (Nero, Pendulum, Magnetic Man) who can put together a group of tracks and make you love each one individually.

Netsky - Without You
Artist: Netsky
Track: Without You
Label: free
There is absolutely nothing wrong with Netsky. I can say that with all sincerity after seeing here in NYC live with a full band, the show was amazing. He continues to put out phenomenal tracks that are in all ranges of bass music. The grooves he produces is really a reflection of his musicianship and understanding of actual, real, good music. My only qualm is maybe his DJ set from Electric Zoo a few years ago, but he more than made up for it recently with his live act. Good to hear some new tunes.
