Swedish House Mafia - Save the World (Cazzette Dubby Steppy Bootleg) + Avicii - Sweet Dreams (Cazzette Meet At Night Mix)
Artist: Swedish House Mafia
Track: Save the World (Cazzette Dubby Steppy Bootleg)
Label: EMI
Sick, sick remix of SHM's newest "Save the World" by Swedish duo Cazzette. I will admit I like this remix better than the original. Also putting in good work on a remix of Avicii's "Sweet Dreams" below, these two seem to be onto something.
Artist: Avicii

David Guetta - Little Bad Girl (Instrumental) + David Guetta ft Taio Cruz & Ludacris - Little Bad Girl
Artist: David Guetta
Track: Little Bad Girl (Instrumental)
Label: EMI
What in the flying shit is this? I personally can't stand the mainstream appreciation for electronic dance music as long as there is a pop star singing over it. There is no one more guilty or made more money from doing it than David Guetta. I heard the original track (below) and as soon as Ludacris came on I rolled my eyes and played the next track button. But thennnnnnn, I heard the instrumental on Gareth Emery's podcast and I was like "huh, Swedish House...wha...Daft Punk sample?...huh...who...?" I look at the track listing and I pissed just a little bit. I have to admit it has that mainstream quality where everyone can get into it, but the chords are huge and the instrumental is an absolute banger. Don't you hate it when you find yourself being a hypocrite?

Kryder - K2
Artist: Kryder
Track: K2
Label: Musical Freedom
Been sitting on this one for a while and just listened to it again. just WOW.
Robbie Rivera - Imagine
Artist: Robbie Rivera
Track: Imagine
Label: Pinkstar
If there's one person that's the most consistent in dance music it's got to be Robbie Rivera. You almost take it for granted that no matter what each one of his tracks is going to be a dance floor destroyer, and he does it again with this one. Moving to Black Hole Recordings he has definitely taken a step into the trance/trouse direction and lost his signature house sound. Gotta admit though the addition of the build up and breakdown sound effects and distortions add that little bit of excitement we're all hearing in our head regardless albeit cheesey, I can only imagine what this sounds like on the main floor of the big room. Whhhooooooshhhhhhhh crraaasshhhhhh.

Ferry Corsten - Check It Out
Artist: Ferry Corsten
Track: Check It Out
Label: Flashover Recordings
Now who expected a track like this to come out of Ferry Corsten's studio. This is the same guy who produced classic trance bangers like "Radio Crash" and "Made of Love". If I didn't know any better I would say this was a Hardwell or Avicii song. Big leads and a solid old school Prodigy vocal sample, could it be possible that the man Ferry Corsten himself is joining the trouse revolution? Or is it that he just got lazy? Solid, festival ready track regardless off of Flashover.
Mogui - We Want Your Soul (Thomas Gold Remix) + Mogui - Kick Out the Jams + Mogui - Sittin on Chrome + Mogui - Oyster (Michael Woods Remix)
Artist: Mogui
Track: We Want Your Soul (Thomas Gold Remix)
Label: Size Records
"We Want Your Soul" is another one of those tracks that has been hanging around for a handful of months that just got lost in the shuffle of posting. Everyone from the SHM to Avicii and Hardwell have been playing this one nonstop. And with good reason, Mogui has been around for a while now putting out solid tech/electro and progressive house tracks. His stuff has been a little bit on the weird side for me, starting with "Kick Out the Jams" (below), but it's all solid stuff. "Sittin on Chrome" (below) was a step towards more mainstream stuff, but still a little leftfield if you ask me. The real gem here is Michael Wood's remix of "Oyster" (below).

Bad Boy Bill ft. Alyssa Palmer - If I Tell You (JQuintel Remix) + Original
Artist: Bad Boy Bill
Track: If I Tell You (JQuintel Remxi)
Label: Nettwerk
Absolutely massive remix coming from JQuintel of Bad Boy Bill's "If I Tell You". Monster banger and the bass drop is for the big boys in the big room. Starkly different than the original (below), JQuintel's production work is really on display here. Something a little high energy for a rainy NYC. Welcome to the weekend.

Pryda - Glimma + Funkagenda - Splinter
Artist: Pryda
Track: Glimma
Label: Pryda
There's a usual cohesion to my posts, a common thread or trend. Today's two posts really has nothing in common except for Eddie Halliwell. I heard these two songs played back to back during Eddie's "Fire It Up Radio Show" 100th Anniversary; and they effing rocked it. While ones a little bit old and one's a little bit new, these were played directly in the middle of the set, a place I personally would not expect them to go. Listen to them back to back and tell me you wouldn't get up and shake your ass.

Armin van Buuren ft. Nadia Ali - Feels So Good (Tristan Garner Remix)
Artist: Armin van Buuren ft. Nadia Ali
Track: Feels So Good (Tristan Garner Remix)
Label: Armada
Maybe it's because I just returned from vacation tan and relaxed or maybe because the official first day of summer was yesterday; but I'm digging this feel good remix of van Buuren's "Feels So Good". I'm not too fond of the original version of the track, but Tristan Garner givers it enough toe tapping power and highlights Nadia Ali's voice enough to finally make this one a stormer.

Championed by Marcus Schulz and released on his Coldharbour imprint, Beat Service is becoming as much as a staple in many trance DJ's sets as Tritonal and W&W. The Estonia native is releasing this monster on June 20th as well as his other stomper "Charged" (below).

Wynter Gordon - Dirty Talk (Laidback Luke Remix)
Artist: Wynter Gordon
Track: Dirty Talk (Laidback Luke Remix)
Label: Big Beat
This Wynter Gordon remix has been floating around for a while and i figure it's a pretty good get your weekend going track. Wynter Gordon has been blowing up the the dance music scene, and while this is definitely one of those radio friendly house songs, it's kinda good. Absolutely Laidback Luke style production, but that damn chorus is just so good.... welcome to the weekend.

Alex Kunnari - Lost
Artist: Alex Kunnari
Track: Lost
Label: Black Hole
An amazing song with some really great leads, a great example of the burgeoning "Trouse" (trance/house) genre that's slowly creeping into the mainstream. It used to be you were either a house guy or you were a trance guy. Now with the advent of big room progressive house, electro house, tech trance, ect, ect there's no distinguishing, fine line of what exactly you are listening to. And I like that. I still by all means hate it when people generalize all electronic dance music as "house music" or "techno", but I think we're getting there....

Above & Beyond - Prelude + Above & Beyond - A Thing Called Love
Artist: Above & Beyond
Track: Prelude
Label: Ajunabeats
Above & Beyond really nailed it with their full length artist album "Group Therapy". Every critic and magazine in the dance music community has agreed that it is not only is the best artist album of the year but one of the best of all time. I already posted about one of my favorite tracks from the album and of the year "Sun and Moon", but the track above "Prelude" is just absolutely beautiful. Above & Beyond is doing an amazing job not only making solid trance music but making the entire genre of electronic dance music more accessible to the mainstream. Some people may not like that, but I personally don't like people who I like to term as "house music snobs". Mainly people who don't/won't like a certain type of music because it's not underground or it's liked by too many people. Get over yourself. Good music is good music. If you want to go stand at a bar listening to a DJ play the same beat for 4 hours with alternating tones and beeps, good for you, I'm not going to hate. Above & Beyond made very literally a good music album, and I'm going to enjoy listening to it too.

Marco V & Mohawk - Unprepared (Marcel Woods Remix) + Marcel Woods - Sunrise Anthem 2011
Artist: Marco V & Mohawk
Track: Unprepared (Marcel Woods Remix)
Label: High Contrast
God damn Marcel Woods killing it on this remix of an already amazing track by Marco V. Anthem size strings and big build up equals hands in the air drops. I had to include his newest track (just the teaser because the full length is iffy), which is the official anthem for the Sunrise Festival.

Artist: Bingo Players
Track: Cry (Just A Little) (Olav Basoski Remxi)
Label: Spinnin
Olav Basoski doing his thing and putting down his signature house sound on the remix duties. I would say my favorite is his original track "I Feel So..." (below), I'm a sucker for well sampled vocals.

Track: Set Fire To The Rain (Thomas Gold Remix)

Thomas Gold remixes Adele to make a big chord banger for the late night crowd. But this isn't the first time we've seen Thomas Gold create an absolute ripper, my two personal favorites are "Agora" (below) and Marsch Marsch (below). Welcome to the weekend.

Arty & Vision Control ft Angelic Amanda - Abandoning The Faith + Chase & Status ft. Deliliah - Time + Nero - Guilt
Artist: Arty & Vision Control ft Angelic Amanda
Track: Abandoning The Faith
Label: Ajunabeats
Some real solid dubstep and drum and bass beats here, my favorite from the least expected, Russian trance monster Arty. You can always count on Chase & Status and Nero to throw down something epic, but this new Arty track is something to be reckoned with.

Artist: Pryda (Eric Prydz)
Track: Mirage

Wow. All i can say is, smoke. Eric Prydz truly is a master and knows how to craft a sound. The amount of layered textures on this song is amazing while still keeping its toe tapping ability. Another instant classic from Pryda.

Francisco Diaz & Jeff Rock- Disco + Young Rebels & Francesco Diaz- Damascus (Dada Life Remix) + Francisco Diaz & Jeff Rock- Overdose
Artist: Francesco Diaz & Jeff Rock
Track: Disco
Label: Ministry of Sound
Big, fat, dirty, electro house from the man, Francisco Diaz. He has taken a decidedly more electro turn while teaming up with Jeff Rock, compared to his more straight forward house vibe when collaborating with the Young Rebels. Either way, some quality tunes.

Artist: Sander Van Doorn
Track: Daddyrock (Arty Remix)
Label: Doorn Recrods
Artist: Heatbeat
Track: Ask the Cat
Label: Istmo Music
There's not really much rhyme or reason to this posting, I've basically been sitting on these tracks for a while and someone needs to hear them. In honor of Sander visiting NYC I wanted to start it off with Arty's awesome remix of "Daddyrock" The sounds definitely run the gamut from tech trance to whatever you consider "The Mule" (below) to be, but there's a little bit of something for everyone in here. Welcome to the weekend.

Carl Louis & Martin Danielle ft Colonel Red - Little Bit
Artist: Carl Louis & Martin Danielle ft Colonel Red
Track: Little Bit
Label: Size Records
I don't know if it's the nice weather or the recent trip to the beach, but I've been in a happy, vocal house mood recently. This track is certainly one of them, whether your by the pool with drink in hand or cruising with the windows open and you arm dangling out the window; this is one of those tracks that just sets off that feel good mood.
Erick Stong - Joker + Erick Strong - Hopeless + Erick Strong - Monster
Artist: Erick Strong

Solid tech trance by newcomer Erick Stong. Getting major plays from Sander Van Doorn, Markus Schulz, Judge Jules and Simon Patterson; Strong's productions are consitantly on the level with the big room sound each one of his champions puts up. Big sweeping synths and whole room filling basslines gaurentee each one of these tracks a place in the trance room at 3 AM.

Depeche Mode - Never Let Me Down Again (Eric Prydz Remix) + Depeche Mode - Personal Jesus (Eric Prydz Epic Mix)
Artist: Depeche Mode
Track: Never Let Me Down Again (Eric Prydz Remix)
Label: Mute
Two real strong tech/prog house remixes by Pryda himself, Eric Prydz. These are by no means massive house bangers, but neither were the original Depeche Mode tracks, they were always guaranteed head nodders. Great samples and catchy bass lines (especially Personal Jesus) make both tracks satisfactory feet movers though. In my opinion "Personal Jesus" verges on Pink Floyd Prydz remixed a handful of years ago.

Eddie Thoneick & Erick Morillo feat. Shawnee Taylor - Stronger
Artist:Eddie Thoneick & Erick Morillo feat. Shawnee Taylor

With the official start of the summer there is absolutely no reason not to post this track, a daytime, beach club classic in the making by two house titans. Shades on, shirt off, drink in hand.
