Sebastian Krieg & Jerome Isma-Ae vs IIo -- Rapture 959 (Kryder Ibiza Booty Mix)

Artist: Sebastian Krieg & Jerome Isma-Ae vs IIo
Track: Rapture 959 (Kryder Ibiza Booty Mix)
Label: Bootleg

I posted "959" earlier this month because the beat is obviously ass shaking nutso. But this is a perfect example that if you slap the Rapture vocal sample over almost any song and it jacks it up 100x. Coupled with the fact that this is a Kryder mash-up... makes a song thats a 10 instantly a 12.

Stoneface & Terminal - Leaving Earth

Artist: Stoneface & Terminal
Track: Leaving Earth
Label: Euphonic

Stoneface and Terminal are really making some interesting music theses days. They are starting to drift more away from traditional trance into this interesting progressive sound, which I'm really liking. Something high energy without being cheesy. Welcome to the weekend.

Boom Jinx ft. Justine Suissa - Phoenix From The Flames (Club Mix) + Ad Brown & Proff ft. Hannah Ray - Scared + Menno de Jong ft. Ellie Lawson - Place In The Sun (Ronski Speed Remix) + Aquateca ft. Ange - Close Your Eyes (Poshout Remix)

Artist: Boom Jinx ft. Justine Suissa
Track: Phoenix From The Flames (Club Mix)
Label: Ajunabeats

Some vocal trance goodies for ya. The Boom Jinx track is exactly what vocal trance has been and will continue to evolve to be. Especially the amped up energy of the hook around 3:15, big room smile music. All the other tracks are your standard fare, so if you're into vocal trance, this is your post.

Artist: Ad Brown & PROFF ft. Hannah Ray
Track: Scared
Label: Intuition

Artist: Menno de Jong ft. Ellie Lawson
Track: Place In The Sun (Ronski Speed Remix)

Vada - Fire in the Sky

Artist: Vada
Track: Fire in the Sky
Label: Garuda

Throwback to one of those classic trance sounds of the early 2000's here without being too cheesy. Standard little vocal sample, great energy, solid lead and hook. You can't really ask for more in a song.....in 2001. Either way this track is making me a bit nostalgic and you'd be lying to yourself if you wouldn't shake your ass to this on the dance floor if it came on. Being signed to Garuda records, it seems that Gareth Emery thinks so as well....

Nom De Strip & TJR ft. Sue Cho - My Life + Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike - STOMP!

Artist: Nom De Strip & TJR ft. Sue Cho
Track: My Life
Label: Dim Mak

Funky electro house banger released off of Steve Aoki's Dim Mak imprint. Not only is this a great banger, but add the vocals of Sue Cho plus the tweaked vocal repeater half way through the track sounding like a siren, this is a full on 3 AM stormer, especially for the West Coast crowd. Coupled together with my other favorite from the "New Noise Compilation" Dim Mak put out, frequent entry favorites Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike round out the post with a complete mindfucker.

Artist: Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike
Track: STOMP!
Label: Dim Mak

Zedd - Shave It + Skrillex - Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites (Zedd Remix) + Swedish House Mafia - Save the World (Zedd Remix)

Artist: Zedd
Track: Shave It
Label: OWSLA

German electro house from a classically trained musician? Yes please. My man Zedd is signed to Skrillex's OWSLA label and "Shave It" is the first official release. I find his style really interesting, combining elements of electro, dubstep and techno. My real interest in Zedd however, is his remix work, it's absolutely phenomenal, see the samplings below.

John Dahlback ft. Erik Hassle - One Last Ride (Tommy Trash Remix) + Original

Artist: John Dahlback feat. Erik Hassle
Track: One Last Ride (Tommy Trash Remix)
Label: Big Beat

I swear there's something in the water in Sweden that they just keep pumping out amazing DJs and EDM artists. Maybe they took the water from Holland and have been feeding pregnant mothers in Sweden, because it seems like they amazing music that was coming out of the Netherlands a few years ago has migrated to Sweden. I'm a big fan of both versions of this song for very different reasons, and I want to provide you with the option to decide what kind of vibe you want. After all, it's Friday, the next two days are all about you. Welcome to the weekend.

DEVolution ft. Amy Pearson - Good Love (Alesso Remix) + Jasper Forks - River Flows In You (Alesso Remix)

Artist: DEVolution ft. Amy Pearson
Track: Good Love (Alesso Remix)
Label: One More Tune

It just goes to show that if you're smart, have the right know how and a great music ear you can very literally be a superstar now a days. I heard an interview Pete Tong did with Alesso talking about how he learned Cubase by taking a class once a week on a Thursday and that when he started getting asked to do DJ gigs he had no idea how to beat match or understood the concept of pitch and key harmonies between songs while mixing. Regardless of any of that and my slight jealousy that new DJs now have no concept of what it was like to mix using real vinyl records, I am a fan, he makes some damn good productions.

Artist: Jasper Forks
Track: River Flows In You (Alesso Remix)

Manuel De La Mare & Luca Monticelli - Guerrilla

Artist: Manuel De La Mare & Luca Monticelli
Track: Guerrilla
Label: Spinnin Records

Manuel De La Mare teaming up with Luca Monticelli to make a track that seems to be the recent Spinnin Records sound.....big big big room chords. Expect to see this one at peak time pounded by some of the biggies. Don't expect a lot of substance from this one, just straight 4 AM energy music.

BT & Adam K - Tomahawk (Dave Dresden Edit)

Artist: BT & Adam K
Track: Tomahawk (Dave Dresden Edit)
Label: Armind

Wowwwwwww. Big room tech electro sounds coming outta nooowheeerreee with the Dave Dresden edit of BT and Adam K. I'm personally more of a Josh Gabriel fan in terms of Gabriel & Dresden, but in comparison to the original (below) Dave Dresden fuckin knocks the roof off the intro/outro, bpm change with this one. Home run, David, home run. Is it me or is BT starting to sound more and more like deadmau5?

Tristan Garner - Overdrive

Artist: Tristan Garner
Track: Overdrive
Label: Scorpio Music

Ohhhhweeeeeee. Big room, progressive, club banger from Tristan Garner; one of my recent favorites. It's true the "progressive house" sound is extremely copy and paste and lacks a bit of the depth that other genres of music have. But when you need a little push in the right direction to have that one more drink you know you shouldn't have that will inevitably cause you to start nodding your head a little bit too much to the music, Tristan is your man. Welcome to the weekend.

Hannah - Falling Away (Armin van Buuren Remix)

Artist: Hannah
Track: Falling Away (Armin van Buuren Remix)
Label: Armada

Serious trance mover and what you come to expect from an Armin van Buuren remix. Great work to bring Estonian singer Hannah Ild's vocals to the mainstream. Pretty cut and dry trance here. To be honest with you, I like the lead in and lead out more than the actual meat of the song, but that's just me.

Cosmic Gate ft. Emma Hewitt- Be Your Sound + Cosmic Gate ft .Emma Hewitt - Not Enough Time

Artist: Cosmic Gate ft. Emma Hewitt
Track: Be Your Sound
Label: Black Hole

In honor of Blackhole's 400th release, Cosmic Gate's upcoming gig at Cielo NYC on 10/27 and their upcoming 5th studio album "Free Your Mind"; I give you another collaboration with Emma Hewitt "Be Your Sound". "Not Enough Time", which was last years absolute vocal trance stormer is below for added good measure.

Cari Lekebusch & Joseph Capriati - Napoli 4am + Trisco - Musak (Wonderland Avenue Remix)

Artist: Cari Lekebusch & Joseph Capriati
Track: Napoli 4am
Label: Drumcode

Two great techno tracks, one old and one new that I've been zoning out to recently to get through the middle of the day. Definitely listen to both in HD if can, the groove especially on "Napoli 4 AM" will have you shaking your ass a bit in your chair. Due to be released in a couple weeks, Lekebusch and Capriati's tracks really personify the Drumcode sound. The Wonderland Avenue remix of Trisco's Musak is completely on the opposite end of the techno spectrum, raising the BPM and groove significantly. (try to listen at 320p because oddly enough it sounds better than 460p.)

Artist: Trisco
Track: Musak (Wonderland Avenue Remix)

Rafael Frost- Smash (Original Mix) + Rafael Frost - Red + Rafael Frost - Flashback + Rafael Frost - Black Box

Artist: Rafael Frost
Track: Smash
Label: Flashover

The man has been putting out massive trance stormers for a minute now, but there's something about the chord progression and overall power that gets me in "Smash". "Flashback" and "Black Box"(below) are both true to the definition trance tracks, but Smash has something else to it that breaks the mold somehow. It's not a particularly dancey track in my opinion, but something he did with the basslines or filtering just makes it really aggressive and punchy but not in an over the top way. It was a certain quality that started to come out in "Red" (below) but didn't quite get there til now.

Space Rockerz Feat. Tania Zygar - Puzzle Piece (Daniel Heatcliff's Farewell Remix)

Artist: Space RockerZ ft. Tania Zygar
Track: Puzzle Piece (Daniel Heatcliff's Farewell Remix)
Label: Aropa

If you're a trance fan you can't hate Tania Zygar's voice, it's absolutely beautiful. You also can't hate Daniel Heathcliff of Heathcliff and Barnes fame putting his own dirty touch on this track while still keeping it in that peak time trance mood. Filthy little electro bass lines keeping the progressive heads while the tranceophiles enjoy the break. Lastly, you can't hate this this is being championed by Markus Schulz and released on an imprint established by Dash Berlin, two groups that have created quite an environment of sound around themselves.

Paris FZ & Simo T - Monk (Jake Shanahan & Sebastien Lintz Remix)

Artist: Paris FZ & Simo T
Track: Monk (Jake Shanahan & Sebastien Lintz Remix)
Label: Revealed

Solid big chord, main room progressive stomper off of the young imprint Revealed. Sebastien Lintz does his usual remix work to make this track the 3 AM wake up call it is. Welcome to the weekend.

James Talk vs Prince - When Doves Cry

Artist: Prince
Track: When Doves Cry (James Talk Remix)
Label: Toolroom

Awesome release from James Talk, sans his usual production partner Ridney. Deep grooves and typical Toolroom sampling make this one an instant toe tapper.

Aerofeel5 and Masstek - Tripoli

Aritst: Aerofeel5 and Masstek
Track: Tripoli
Label: Flashover

Oddly, a really bouncy, untrancey feel to this jam off of Flashover Recordings. Dare I say even a little progressive? Just another example of lines being blurred between genres to make great music. Expect this one to be blasted by the heavy hitters in the next few weeks.

Knife Party vs Swedish House Mafia - Antidote + Knife Party - Internet Friends + Porter Robinson - Unison (Knife Party Remix)

Artist: Knife Party vs Swedish House Mafia
Track: Antidote
Label: Virgin

So Knife Party the side project of two Pendulum members, Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen, and apparently they just like to make filthy, filthy electro beats. I'm not a massive fan (but enough to post it) but this is something for the kids, like the ones who wear a lot of neon....

Sebastian Krieg & Jerome Isma-ae - 959

Artist: Sebastian Krieg & Jerome Isma-ae
Track: 959
Label: Jee

Huge fan of Jerome Isma-ae and his anti climatic productions that still offer solid, solid grooves. Teaming up with Sebastian Kreig to deliver another solid production.
