Russ Chimes - Back 2 You + Ellie Goulding - Starry Eyed (Russ Chimes Remix) + Sam Sparro - Black and Gold (Russ Chimes Remix)

Artist: Russ Chimes
Track: Back 2 You
Label: Positiva

Pete Tong dropped this unbelievably sexy dance floor friendly track last week and I have been listening to it ever since. It's a surprise that Russ Chimes' new track was debuted on the BBC but listen to this song, its phenomenal. I've been going nutso trying to find a full version (releases in May), so you better believe that as soon as I can grab a copy I'll be uploading the post. In the meantime, enjoy my two other favorite Chimes' booty shaking remixes below.

Kaskade - Live at Coachella 2012

I've been listening to this one over and over. Seems like a perfect start to a couple days off.

Sultan & Ned Shepard ft. Quilla - Walls (Club Mix) + Avicii ft. Salem Al Fakir - Silhouettes (Original Vocal Mix)

Artist: Sultan & Ned Shepard  ft. Quilla
Track: Walls (Club Mix)
Label: Musical Freedom

"Walls" has been floating around for a few weeks now and are at the top of everyone's play list. I also wanted to include the vocal and still unreleased version of "Silhouettes" because to me both have that feel good, airy, vocal vibe and are a nice change from the 140 bpm face melting you might get during a peak time set at 5 am somewhere. If you're looking to shake your ass a bit with a little smile on your face, give these two a shot, you won't be disappointed.

Beat Service ft. Ben Hague - Why Me + Markus Schulz & Ferry Corsten - Loops & Tings

Artist: Beat Service ft. Ben Hague
Track: Why Me
Label: Beat Service Audio

I present to you two tracks that have been hanging around in my stockpile of tracks for a while now, and again are loosely related. You will remember Ben Hague putting his touch and KILLING Ferry Corsten track "Ain't No Stoppin" that I posted about previously. Ben Hague's vocals are flawless and the hook is as catchy as any pop song you would hear on the radio. It's a little bit more chill than I'm used to especially for a Wednesday, so we need to spice it up a bit, with a remake of a classic by Mr. Corsten himself teaming up with one of my all time favorites, Markus Schulz. I recently heard this track live and let me tell you, there isn't one person whose hands aren't in the air at the drop.

Paul Van Dyk - Rock This + Paul Van Dyk - Oceans Paul van Dyk ft. Austin Leeds - Verano (PvD's Full Fire Mix)

Artist: Paul Van Dyk
Track: Rock This
Label: Vandit

I have some very mixed feelings about "Rock This" and apparently so does the rest of the people on the web who have either posted or commented. I have made it very clear that there is a distinction between selling out and evolving, constantly creating and moving forward compared to taking the easy road of what is popular and current. Van Dyk was one of the biggest DJ's in the world 10 years ago and has since fallen a bit off the map of relevance, but mind you, his new album IS CALLED EVOLUTION. I'm not sure if that's the sure fire way for older DJs to come back and reinvent themselves and make themselves relevant anymore but look who it worked for: Tiesto has become electro/progressive house and is at the top of the game, Paul Oakenfold reinvented himself for a second time back to more progressive trance.

But then you take a track like "The Ocean" featuring Arty, who he himself has had a bit of a transition from trance to progressive house, and it hearkens back to Van Dyk's older days of production. Bring even further back with the Full Fire Remix of "Verano" featuring Austin Leeds and you keep the fans from the past happy. Overall the album is a mixed bags of styles from the past and present but it's a great notch on PvD's belt.

Pryda - SW4 + Pryda - AGAG

Artist: Eric Prydz presents Pryda
Track: SW4
Label: Pryda

As the May release of his album gets closer and closer Eric Prydz is pulling out all the stops with some hints of what will be on his artist/compilation album including these two melodic rockers. AGAG was played years ago on his Essential Mix but is finally getting a proper release whereas SW4 is a new production, very much in the same vain but with a more driving bass line. I couldn't think of anyone better to post on a rainy Monday here in NYC.

NO_ID & Martin Volt - Zelda (Hardwell Edit)

Artist: NO_ID & Martin Volt
Track: Zelda (Hardwell Edit)
Label: Revealed Recordings

Hardwell taking a banger by No_ID and putting his little touch on it, and by little I mean big room sounds and drops. Snare hits just taking the build up to the whole new level. Customary fare by one of the reigning kings of the progressive house scene. The original was great, the edit brings it to that new dance floor friendly level. Now go get yourself a drink.

Susana - Home (Mr. Pit Remix)

Artist: Susana
Track: Home (Mr. Pit Remix)
Label: Armada

I've been holding onto this song for weeks now since I heard Markus Schulz drop this right in the middle of pretty much every one of his sets. All I can say is that this track is MASSSSIVE played live. You can kind of get a sense of the energy this track brings from the bouncing bass line, but it's something about this Mr. Pit remix that brings that break to live, in the big room it's breath taking. Listen to this song AS LOUD AS POSSIBLE.

Welcome to the weekend.

The Naked & Famous - Young Blood (Tiesto & Hardwell Remix) + Dannic - Wop (Riverdance 2012 Anthem)

Artist: The Naked & Famous
Track: Young Blood (Tiesto & Hardwell Remix)
Label: Musical Freedom

Two tracks vaguely related by Hardwell, yet only really related by the vibe. Is it me or is everyone's tracks getting a bit more airy, a bit more happy a bit more....sunny? Summer time is right around the corner and everyone is starting to drop their summer time productions, each one vying for song of the summer. To achieve this is monumental, everyone goes big for their summer releases as they well should be. Can you remember what the song of the summer was to you last year? The year before? I sure do....

Estiva ft. Tania Zygar - Death Of Me

Artist: Estiva ft. Tania Zygar
Track: Death Of Me
Label: Enhanced Recordings

I pretty much listen to live sets, podcasts or radio shows all day long; so from the hours of 10 AM to 6 PM I have dance music playing on a constant basis. I hear close to, I don't know, a hundred or so songs a day. I would say a large part of what catches my ear with some songs is how they're played in the set. For others it's just an overwhelmingly catchy sample/huge dance floor mover, and for the rest it's something I personally find familiar and like. More often than not I will bookmark a song on youtube and go back to listen to it a week or so later and I question why I even liked it to begin with. However with this Estiva track it has both of the things I love: 1. it bangs out at the 3 minute mark, 2. Tania Zygar's voice is familiar and lovely. Admittedly the track does start off a bit slow but the break at 2:15, followed by the chorus followed by structure break at 3 minutes, followed by the drop at at 3:25 with the hollow bass line....oohhhhh weeeeeee. Big room trance right here.

Siege - Roads (Sergio Fernandez Remix) + Original

Artist: Siege - Roads (Sergio Fernandez Remix)
Track: Roads (Sergio Fernandez Remix)
Label: Zouk

There's really no way you can hate this track or the melody, and it deserves a chance to get one more look with the Sergio Fernandez really taking that laid back vibe or the sample to another level. I blogged about Siege and about the original track in February here, and I really haven't been able to get this track out of my head. I'll hear it in my head in the shower or when I'm walking to the grocery store. Summer's around the corner, the sun is out and the nights are getting longer. I'll be adding these two to my night time jams.

Phunk Investigation vs. Schuhmacher - From The Dust + Christian Cambas - Animate Objects (Original Club Mix)

Artist: Phunk Investigation vs. Schuhmacher
Track: From The Dust
Label: 1605

Funky basslines and grooved out samples, two techno tracks from very opposite ends of the spectrum, but for some reason I feel like I could hear them both in the same set. While the Phunk Investigation track is a bit more menacing, I feel like it's a good warm up for the straight up, all dance floor mover sunshine that is the Christian Cambas track. 1605 and Toolroom aren't closely related, but I'm sure they could share a club night somewhere......

Mark Norman - Never Let The Party Stop (Artento Divini Remix)

Artist: Mark Norman
Track: Never Let The Party Stop (Artento Divini Remix)
Label: High Contrast

The might be something wrong with Artento Divini, like an over abundance of energy or he lives in a very, very dark room somewhere. All of his tracks scream banger and deserve the peak time. Perfect to get yourself going on a Saturday. Now go get yourself a drink.

Josef Belani - One Love + Peace Treaty Vs ESOT Vs Jay-Z & Kanye West - Heard You Were Walking In Paris (Hardwell MAKJ Bootleg)

Artist: Josef Belani
Track: One Love
Label: Roster Music

Uhhhh ohhh. We got ourselves some progressive house (vocal) bangers championed by Mr. Facemelter himself, Thomas Gold. High energy, get your ass out of your seats and start dancing music, if you ask me. There isn't a person alive that listens to tracks like these and is like "Ohhh, well, this isn't really my jam, I'm just going to go sit down." Welcome to the weekend my friends.

Paul Thomas & Weekend Heroes - Morena

Artist: Paul Thomas & Weekend Heroes
Track: Morena
Label: Spinnin

Ahh yes, Paul Thomas is on a bit of a hot streak in my book with this being his third solid hit, the other two being here and here, with the last one being last week. The guy just makes good music what can I say? It's nice to have a departure from the typical face melting beeps and build ups sometimes, while still getting you ass shaking/toe tapping on. Bravo Mr. Thomas for allowing me to listen to danceable music without melting my face off before 11 AM.

Ellie Goulding - Lights (J&T Project Remix) + Chase & Status - End Credits (J&T Project Remix) + J&T Project ft. Lana Del Rey - Video Games

Artist: Ellie Goulding
Track: Lights (J&T Project Remix)
Label: white

Phenomenal remix of a song I personally loved on its' on by the J&T Project aka Tristan D and Judge Jules. Bassnectar remixed this with Lupe Fiasco a while ago but no one really made a qaulified 4/4 remix, until now. Both Jules and Pete Tong have been slamming this one on their radio shows for a couple months now, with good reason, this isn't going to be your 4 AM eye opener but a very, very solid dance track. Couple that with their past work remixing Lana Del Ray and Chase & Status below, you have yourself a solid production team.

3rd Planet - Sevas

Artist: 3rd Planet
Track: Sevas
Label: Flashover

I don't know if I would call this trance or house or trouse or whatever. I really like that in the recent years artists and producers have strayed from sticking within the confines of one EDM genre and have allowed themselves to venture outside the lines of what a specific label or genre is supposed to sound like. This track by 3rd Planet is a perfect example. From what I know from the past, 3rd Planet has been a straight trance act, and being released on Flashover would dictate otherwise. But thissss track, this track is I don't know what. It's simplistic enough to only have one drop, a singular chord progression and a second harmony around the 4 minute mark, but if I hear this peak time in the summertime, I know I'm gonna be jumping around getting sweaty. Toe tapper approved.

Dukes Of Sluca vs. Apollo - Mighty Love (Eric Prydz Re-Edit)

Artist: Dukes Of Sluca vs. Apollo
Track: Mighty Love (Eric Prydz Re-Edit)
Label: Pryda

A little Monday treat, a track from Mr. Prydz that I haven't posted previously, and which I personally can't get enough of. This track should be one of the ones featured on his new Pryda album coming out soon, with all works under Pryda and a buncha reworks. He radio premiered this one at his EPIC show last year and it was a stormer. I really don't know anyone that doesn't think the man is a genius, and for good reason, look at this.

Paul Thomas & Alex Di Stefano - Shining

Artist: Paul Thomas & Alex Di Stefano
Track: Shining
Label: Diffused

Here's a track that I've been holding onto for while because i really didn't fit any theme I was thinking about and because they're more on the chill side than I'm used to posting. Not because it's downtempo or ambient or anything, just because it has that typical progressive house.....without any break. It's really odd, but I kind of like it for when your drinking with some buddies and don't feel like having your face fully melted off. Now go get yourself a drink.

CLMD - Black Eyes & Blue

Artist: CLMD
Track: Black Eyes & Blue
Label: Up North Recordings

This is just one hell of a song by our old friends Carl Louis and Martin Danielle, who we paid a little visit to previously here. Truly monumental shit here hitting on all the epic EDM notes. You have your huge, repetitive lead synths, the haunting vocals, solid BPM a bit under 130 (I could be wrong) and that added little bit of something to keep your attention that I particularly love....the bass drop warble in the break. It's like a down tuned bass just dropping the floor out. On the main floor that thing is absolutely bone shaking. Welcome to the weekend my friends.

Martin Solveig - The Night Out (Maison & Dragen Remix) + Martin Solveig - The Night Out (Madeon Remix)

Artist: Martin Solveig
Track: The Night Out (Maison & Dragen Remix)
Label: Big Beat

Uhhh ohhh, we've got some summer sounds creeping to the play lists recently. And for those of you still eating cheese steaks and ice cream, better get your ass to the gym because this my friend is a beach tune. Something approachable enough that girls will know the words and dance their little bikini bottoms off, catchy enough that dudes wont mind hearing it on repeat and watching the ladies shake their asses with their girlfriends. This track is a win/win in my book. Summertime Approved!

How does it sound if we spend the night out?

Jack Back (David Guetta & Nicky Romero) - Metropolis + Jack Back & Sia - Wild One Two (NO_ID Remix)

Artist: Jack Back
Track: Metropolis
Label: Jack Back

I never really have been a Guetta fan, I have however recognized some of his songs in the past like "Little Bad Girl"; but this collaboration group he is doing with Nicky Romero is absolutely hot like fire. Group in one of my favorites, NO_ID, on the remix and you have yourself a little party. Gotta admit to yourself, Nicky is the present, Guetta was the man before 2009, like east meets west, old meets new ect. Just enjoy your damn self.

Nari & Milani And Cristian Marchi ft. Shena - Love Will Conquer All (Nari & Milani Mix)

Artist: Nari & Milani And Cristian Marchi ft. Shena
Track: Love Will Conquer All (Nari & Milani Mix)
Label: Violence Recordings

A departure from their last, dance floor destroying release "Atom", Nari & Milani bring out another anthem, vocal release. The vocal break seems to be going one way then all of a sudden the drop brings you back right to the main room for a peak time banger. The bass drop is massive and will be well suited to any big room.

Cedric Gervais - Molly

Artist: Cedric Gervais
Track: Molly
Label: Spinnin

I had to finally post it, after all the hoopla and nonsense that has been going on with the Madonna comment at Ultra, so that people can understand it actually is a really good song. Obviously the play off the name "Molly" was cheeky to begin with, but now it's been brought to a whole, ridiculous level. Regardless, Mr. Gervais made himself a certified banger with an old school acid feel.
