It's the Friday before NYE and everyone's I sure bursting at the seams to start partying. This little ditty will get you started off right. Crunchy little riffs and a driving bass line to start happy hour? You don't even need a chaser. Toe tap city. Welcome to the weekend.

Mat Zo & Porter Robinson - Easy

Artist: Mat Zo & Porter Robinson
Track: Easy
Label: Ministry Of Sound/Ajunabeats

First of all, I'm an absolute huge Mat Zo fan and I'm glad he's going to get some name recognition from doing a song with Porter Robinson. If you look back on his body of work he has had some really awesome tracks like his remix of "Be There 4 You" but he's always been the warmer uper for other Ajunabeats Artists, especially head honchos Above and Beyond. His live sets are always consistent and it's good to see him branch out more and create a hell of track like this one and make Beatport #1.

Thomas Gold - MIAO

Artist: Thomas Gold
Track: MIAO
Label: Fly Eye

Anndddd we're back. No better way to put away the holiday spirit and gear up for New Year excitement than the newest Thomas Gold banger. He will be in NYC Sat, Jan 26th playing Roseland and you bet your ass you know where I will be. The guy constantly delivers, both on productions and live sets, his Set Fire to the Rain remix is still one of my favorite tracks of all time. He absolutely destroyed Giants Stadium for EDC. What can't the guy do? Germans, my friends. Efficent.

Sean Hayz - Last Forever (Dank Remix)

Artist: Sean Hayz
Track: Last Forever (Dank Remix)
Label: Funky Element

Want to end your week with a BANG? Here ya go. Exactly what you'd expect from Dank; crunchy bass warble bass lines and that harder edge that makes you want to head bang. You can go two ways with this one, that gentle forward and back head nod/back sway or an all neck breaking banger or a whiplash jam. Either one works which is why I'm a fan of Dank's tracks, versatility. I wouldn't be surprised if this one popped up in a commercial or at a dirty warehouse club.

Hardwell - BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix 11/24/12

Artist: Hardwell
Track: BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix

If you need a holiday party soundtrack (given that you work at a pretty cool office or are having a party with friends), there literally is no better set to throw on than Hardwell's recent BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. Paul Oakenfold did the very first and doing your own Essential Mix has always been an honor a signal that you made it. This one's full of hits, mash ups and the big room sound you expect from Hardwell.

Emma Hewitt - Rewind (Mikkas Remix) + Porter Robinson - Unison (Mikkas Remix)

Artist: Emma Hewitt
Track: Rewind (Mikkas Remix)
Label: Armada

Monster, monster, MONSTER of a remix. Mikkas throws down such a crunchy, ridiculous remix of trance royalty, Emma Hewitt's track. From beginning to end this thing has an electro trance stormer feel. The Danish Mikkas really does his job here, and to prove he's no one hit wonder, I've included his remix of  Porter Robinson track "Unison", which he knocks out of the park too. But Jesus, that break in the Emma Hewitt song, dear god.

Artist: Porter Robinson
Track: Unison (Mikkas Remix)
Label: OWSLA

Dirty South & Michael Brun - Rift

Artist: Dirty South & Michael Brun
Track: Rift
Label: Phazing

I was sick yesterday and super busy today so it's good that I don't have a whole lot to say about this one. I've always been a fan of Dirty South and his productions. As a matter of fact I really don't know any Australian DJs/producers I don't like. Must be something in the water..... But seriously. What really dos it for me is the drop around the 3 minute mark. It all makes sense after that.....

Orkidea - Liberation (Something Good Remix)

Artist: Orkidea
Track: Liberation (Something Good Remix)
Label: Solaris

Because I'm a bit hungover from my company holiday party last night (and you probably are too), here is something a bit whimsical yet driving for your Friday afternoon. For some reason give me a repetitive piano loop and I'm a happy guy no matter what genre it is. The only word that comes to mind right now is majestic, them obviously a mental vision of a unicorn galloping on a rainbow, but that's my own issues to deal with I guess. Regardless, welcome to the weekend.

Trent Cantrelle - I Want A Freak (Tony Junior Remix)

Artist: Trent Cantrelle
Track: I Want A Freak (Tony Junior Remix)
Label: Spinnin

I don't really have much to say about this one, it's pretty straight forward as it gets. Trent Cantrelle, remixed by Tony. Spinnin release. About as straight forward as a party jam can get. Looking to get down and not melt your face too badly, this is your jam.

Alesso - Clash

Artist: Alesso
Track: Clash
Label: Refune

This is another example of a track that was dropped in live sets a million years ago but is finally seeing the light of day through a proper release. It was actually played on Alesso's BBC Radio 1 Essential mix back at the end of March, so it's been that long. Alesso and Otto Knows are two Swedes I know are on the fast track to taking over the Swedish crown from SHM. I've said ti before and I'll say it again, you go back and look at Alesso's body of work so far and there literally isn't a track that hasn't rocked a million dance floors. "Clash" is no different.

PS- Tomorrowland (below) looked like a mellow time.....

Dank - New York Fuckin City (Dank's NYC Trap Edit) + Original

Artist: Dank
Track: New York Fuckin City (Dank's NYC Trap Edit)
Label: Funky Element

Straight up trap remix, murder music. Old Metallica sample, heavy bass and unmistakable party starting "yells", shit's so grimy you're going to need to wash your keyboard down. Hometown hero Dank making good in multiple genres and showing the versatility of his production skills. The original (below) is a straight up electro screamer, so depending on your flavor of the month, you have the option of both. How many more top 10's Dank is going to creep up on Beatport, and in what genre, seems to be the next question.

Artist: Dank
Track: New York Fuckin City (Original)
Label: Funky Element

Fisherman & Hawkins - Apache

Artist: Fisherman & Hawkins
Track: Apache
Label: Coldharbour

Ladies and gentlemen, the song I have been searching high and low for months now. Markus Schulz literally is the only person in the world who plays this in his live sets, so it had to be a Coldharbour track. Every track list I've looked at that it's been on has always been the same story: ID - ID. It has tortured me for months, I couldn't find the name of the track but it would always be right there, smack dab in the middle of a Markus set. Until today. FINALLY.......redemption. I kid you not when I say this shit bangs, because it BANGS, bangs harder than a sledgehammer when you have a hangover. Consider yourself lucky if you get to hear this one live, earth shattering. Enjoy.

Jordy Dazz, Chuckie & Linkin Park - Unknown vs Who's Ready To Jump (GlowInTheDark Remix) vs Numb

Artist: Jordy Dazz, Chuckie & Linkin Park
Track: Unknown vs Who's Ready To Jump (GlowInTheDark Remix) vs Numb
Label: bootleg

Hardwell is definitely known for his mashups, remixes and bootlegs. This little gem was smack in the middle of his BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix a few weeks. I haven't found a Linkin Park house remix that I've ever liked before this one. He is a master of his craft and this mashup shows why. The lyrics flow flawlessly with the other tracks. Something familiar and something to get you out of your seat. Welcome to the weekend.

Sean Tyas ft. Julie Thompson - What I Am + Bryan Kearney Remix

Artist: Sean Tyas ft. Julie Thompson
Track: What I Am
Label: Tytanium Recordings

There's a couple of things I can count on. I can count on that Sean Tyas' and John O'Callaghan's weekly radio shows are going to motivate me in the gym. I can count that Pete Tong's Essential Selection will start out grand and face melting and progressively bore me or become background music. And I can count on that Gareth Emery's podcast and Trance Around the World (now Group Therapy Radio, seems everyone is trying to get away from labeling their radio show with one genre) will have a phenomenal selection and range of tracks. Imagine my surprise when Sean Tyas' new single was on both Tytanium Sessions and TATW in the same week. Tyas is definitely on the harder end of the trance spectrum, but his new productions have mellow out a bit. It's still a hell of a driving track and phenomenally producer with Julie Thompson, but I expect if he spins this one live the BPMs might come up a bit. If you're looking for something closer to the 140BPM range, check out Byran Kearneys remix below.

Alan Fitzpatrick - For An Endless Night

Artist: Alan Fitzpatrick
Track: For An Endless Night
Label: Drumcode

You want to shake the dust off of a Wednesday afternoon, look no further than a Drumcode release.  personally love this shit. Sometimes you need a little techno in your life. This is am upfront warning for those looking for a nice progressive house or vocal trance post, you're not gonna find it here today. There's only so much a man can take until he needs to deep, driving, sneaker rattling, bleep and bass line techno. Other than Adam Beyer himself there literally is no one more fitting for a wake up call tack than Alan Fitzpatrick. Sit back and hold on with this one, you'll need to.

Avicii vs Nicky Romero - I Could Be The One + Calvin Harris ft. Tinie Tempah - Drinking From the Bottle

Artist: Avicii vs Nicky Romero
Track: I Could Be The One
Label: Universal

Welp, it finally has a name. The track I posted over a year ago that some thought was called "FS or Fuck School" is actually this vocal track that has been floating around forever now. Avicii has this weird thing about playing a song or leaking a track and then not officially releasing it for like 10 years. We've all heard it, at least 100 times in various people's sets or radio shows or podcasts.....mainly because it's a pretty catchy track. It is definitely radio friendly and has put Avicii and Nicky Romero (somewhat) in the same category of the Guetta's and Calvin Harris' of the world. So why not put them together on the same post. Note both are major label releases. Below, another Calvin Harris track that is club worthy but radio approved. Enjoy.

Artist: Calvin Harris ft. Tinie Tempah

Store N Forward - Roses + The Thrillseekers ft. Fisher - The Last Time (Store N Forward Remix)

Artist: Store N Forward
Track: Roses
Label: Afterglow

You want some straight forward German trance, Store N Forward are your guys. I can only imagine having them, Cosmic Gate, maybe DJ Shog and a couple other trance heavies on the same bill for a German Invasion night or something; would be unreal. But it really doesn't get any more straight and to the point than with Store N Forward, keeping the old traditions alive. Storming bass lines, lofty vocals, distorted riffs and a beat nearing heart attack level.

Artist: The Thrillseekers ft. Fisher
Track: The Last Time (Store N Forward Remix)
Label: Adjusted
