Audien - Wayfarer

Artist: Audien
Track: Wayfarer
Label: Ajunabeats

This one's been everywhere recently, every podcast I listen has this track as one of the first few songs. Audien's been everywhere too, opening up for some of the heavies recently. This song is just so damn smooth though, you can either foot tap at your desk or if you hear it live, believe you me it's no slouch. This one fits great into the Ajunabeats stable. Smooth as can be #trancefamily.

CLMD - Falling Like Angels (Sebjak’s Rave Remix)

Artist: CLMD
Track: Falling Like Angels (Sebjak’s Rave Remix)
Label: Columbia

Carl Louis & Martin Danielle do it again, this time with a little acid help from Sebjak. CLMD opened for Thomas Gold the other day at Roseland in NYC and they were as expected, if not funkier. Big chords, funky bass lines and great drops. The vocals in this one make it approachable and may hit other people's liking that otherwise would hear the acid stylings and be turned off. Jam of a track.

Ferry Corsten - Kudawudashuda

Artist: Ferry Corsten
Track: Kudawudashuda
Label: Flashover

It's an officially an obsession on the Audio Aesthetics front. The track rightly named "Kudwudashuda" (pronounced Coulda-Woulda-Shoulda) is perhaps the most fun track of the year, maybe even your entire life. The first time I heard it teased it seemed a bit EHH, but this is definitely one of those songs you have to hear live to really appreciate. The bass knock just hard enough to bring a smile to every ones face and all of a sudden the entire room is bouncing. Give it a shot on big speakers and I guarantee you will have an involuntary head nod.

Mikkas & Amba Shepherd - Finally

Artist: Mikkas & Amba Shepherd
Track: Finally
Label: Strictly Rhythm

This one's been on constant rotation in my play list since it was released last week, and I'll give you two HUGE reasons; the break at 1:15 is MONSTEROUS and the breakdown at 3:15 is god damn epic. Mikkas did the same thing we we first posted about his Emma Hewitt remix HERE, but he has really surpassed himself with this one. Amba Sheperd is also fast becoming the breakout EDM vocal star of the year. This one is an immediate Beatport download and I guarantee you it will be a constant companion in your headphones for months to come. Wooo.

Lana del Rey - Summertime Sadness (Cedric Gervais Remix)

Artist: Lana del Rey
Track: Summertime Sadness(Cedric Gervais Remix)
Label: Spinnin

This one is breaking all the rules, crossing all the genres, having every DJ from here to Katmadu slam this one on the decks and make the people move. Cedric Gervais really has transitioned his style into a hit making machine. Lana Del Rey's voice is perfect for this genre of music, hence why she is remixed so often, but this one. Oh this one. This one's a Friday jam. A rule breaker. Perfect start to you know what. That's right. Welcome to the weekend.

Ben Pearce - What I Might Do (Club Edit) + Harry Wolfman Remix

Artist: Ben Pearce
Track: What I Might Do (Club Edit)
Label: MTA Records

Took a complete left turn with this one, the track's not even that new but it just felt appropriate.  The track is just god damn sexy as hell and a sure fire way to get women to dance suggestively. I have nothing prolific or educational to say, so here's the lyrics and another remix:

I knew just what I had to be
When I heard you say what you said to me
To every dude in sight
Look like you working up an appetite for the night, check it
By then I just sat at the back
Peeping you out, the way you act
It was drinking time
Getting out of line
And I make you get back in your place
All is well and all is cool
Stay in your place, don't be no fool
Get along tonight
You look like the type that would try to fight
Best top been a friend to me, you don't want to up and
Better play it cool
Don't know what I might do

Starkillers & Dmitry KO ft. Amba Shepherd - Let The Love

Artist: Starkillers & Dmitry KO ft. Amba Shepherd
Track: Let The Love
Label: Spinnin

Hot off the heels of her huge track with Hardwell, Amba Shepherd lends her to another big room, big chord, peak time, confetti in the air, progressive house stormer. The Starkillers always go big so the track lives up to it's predecessors. It's a feel good, hands in the air track; actually reminds me of the festival jams that come out around summer time. Ahhh, summertime. Only something like 130 days away. What a countdown it is while it is 12*F here in NYC. But it's lovely and sunny out......

W&W & Ummet Ozcan - The Code + Aly & Fila vs John O'Callaghan - Vapourize

Artist: W&W & Ummet Ozcan
Track: The Code
Label: Revealed

We've got a little collaboration line up for you today. First up is W&W's collab with Ummet Ozcan, being released by Hardwell's label Revealed. Everything about this release is surprising, from having some trance titans team up to releasing a "I don't even know what to call this genre anymore" type of song on an electro/progressive house DJ's label. When the full version is released it will be a huge banger.

Now if you're asking yourself simply by the title of this track, "How could this song not be a jam?
You've got Aly & Fila AND JoC." You could not be any more wrong. The JOC flavor is barely there and the long winded trance stylings of Egypt's own are fully in the limelight. Not to say some people might like songs that literally go nowhere, I'm just saying I'm not one of those guys.

Felix Leiter - Nobody's Going Anywhere

Artist: Felix Leiter
Track: Nobody's Going Anywhere
Label: Black Hole

Electro house off fo Black Hole? What has the world come to? Eh, whatever, long gone are the days of Tiesto actually playing trance, so who cares anymore. Saddle up on a Monday with this one and get your Daft Punk groove going, this one sounds robotic enough.

Fehrplay - I Can't Stop It + Ferhplay - Nightride + Fehrplay - Meow

Artist: Fehrplay
Track: I Can't Stop It
Label: Pryda Friends

I can NOT get this track out of my head. Every since seeing Ferhplay open for Prydz at Roseland my mind has been blown by both his DJ and production skills. The repetitive vocal sample just entrances you into a driving, strobe light induced dance coma. I posted about this one as an anchor to a Pryda song and it's finally starting to pick up steam in a lot of DJ's sets. Some of this tracks take a bit of a different path like "Nightride" below and verge into more progressive techno territory. But still, one of his best tracks s "Meow" from a couple of years ago off of Data/Ministry of Sound. It's awesome to see that he is one of the Pryda friends now, fit's in perfectly. Welcome to the weekend.

Armin van Buuren & Markus Schulz - The Expedition (ASOT600 Anthem)

Artist: Armin van Buuren & Markus Schulz
Track: The Expedition (ASOT600 Anthem)
Label: Armada

The official line up for ASOT 600 at Madison Square Garden in NYC has finally been posted, and holy Christ am I excited. Armin, Markus, Ferry. W&W & Alex M.O.R.P.H. Good lord. First of all, to have Alex M.O.R.P.H open up then go right into W&W is a crazy ass show by itself. Thennnnn to get into Markus, Ferry and Armin, who without a doubt will be going B2B on some of each other's sets, its like Graceland for tranceheads.

Now onto the song, the anthem for this whole crazy expedition of shows. Its.....eh. Not really anthem material. That's all I have to say. Eh.

Reepublic - Turn Off The Light

Artist: Reepublic
Track: Turn Off The Light
Label: Reepublic Music

A house music supergroup not involved in organized crime, Reepbulic is Sebastien Benett, Michael Canitrot, Antoine Clamaran, Gregori Klosman & Tristan Garner. This one came out back in November but I can see the first three producers embracing this sound, but for the last three this seems like a bit of a departure. Regardless, this bad boy has Miami written all over and I fully expect (with the proper promotion) that this one will be at every pool party and beach party over the summer. Mark my words! Count it.

Signum - First Strike (Juventa Club Mix)

Artist: Signum
Track: First Strike (Juventa Club Mix)
Label: Armada

WOW, one hell of a remix by Juventa. The break is absolutely monstrous and the underlying bass line is absolutely devastating. It's pretty hard to take a classic track (if only 8 years old) and make it even better, especially a Signum track. You're not going to find any lofty vocals or big room synths on this one, just straight trance coming right for your dome piece.

Discopolis - Committed to Sparkle Motion (DubVision Remix) + Project 46 & DubVision ft. Donna Lewis - You & I

Artist: Discopolis
Track: Committed to Sparkle Motion (DubVision Remix)
Label: Axtone

After going back and realizing I never posted either two of these tracks, I must admit I am ashamed of myself. "Committed to Sparkle Motion" literally destroyed dance floors and festivals for months on end, and thats right after "You and I" set up the big room sound for initial destruction. I'll be the first to admit that after a summer of face melter after face melter I may have had a bit of "big room house fatigue" but that's no excuse to not chronicle two very well deserving and ridiculous songs. Relive the summer, throw these fuckers on and turn the dial to 11.

Dash Berlin MegaPost

Artist: Armin Van Buuren vs. Sophie Ellis Bextor
Track: Not Giving Up
Label: Armada

As I am now the proud ticket holder of both Ultra Music Festival and to see Dash Berlin this weekend in Philadelphia, I saw it as the only logical choice to throw down a Dash Berlin megapost and start it off with my favorite song live from Ultra. I first saw Dash Berlin at Webster Hall a few years ago, and to be honest I didn't expect much. It's not often that production guys can really translate their skills to live DJing. And boy was I wrong. Dash blew the fucking roof off of Webster. I can only compare his to a guy like Kaskade who's production style i much different that his DJing style. With that being said, I'm pumped. Catch ya'll on the flip side. Welcome to the weekend.

Andain - What It's Like (Loverush UK Remix) + John Dahlback Remix

Artist: Andain
Track: What It's Like (Loverush UK Remix)

Who doesn't love a little vocal goodness? AND the fact that this release package comes with both a Loverush UK remix and John Dahlback remix is phenomenal. It's like the calm before the storm, it's Thursday and your ready to rage because Friday is so close but........no no. Not quite yet kiddies, but soon. In the meantime sit on your hands an enjoy these little vocal gems.

Analogue Sound Department - Greetings (Ferry Corsten Edit)

Artist: Analogue Sound Department
Track: Greetings (Ferry Corsten Edit)
Label: Flashover

While Ferry Cortsen's new compilation album isn't one of my favorites, this track really is a gem that stood out. The rolling piano chords and uplifting synths make this one prime time, middle of the set, all smiles favorite. In a genre where repetition is favored over creativity and producers try to out duel each other on who can have the biggest drop, this track is a breath of fresh air. Thumbs up all around on this one. Full vesion below for the full experience.

Chris Lake & Michael Woods - Black Thong + Chocolate Puma & Gregor Salto - Gimme Sum + Bart B More - Traction (TAI Remix)

Artist: Chris Lake & Michael Woods
Track: Black Thong
Label: white

We've got something of a spring cleaning today, tracks that I really liked at the time I heard them but couldn't find a way/reason/time to post them. They're all solid house tracks, going from one end of the spectrum to the other. Consider today a grab bag, a bonus posting of a smattering of deliciousness if you will. Music deliciousness. With a side of bass potatoes. And gravy.

Tony Romera - Pandor

Artist: Tony Romera
Track: Pandor
Label: Protocol Recordings

So my whirlwind New Years tour of Miami to Pacha NYC to Atlantic City got me laid up in the apartment all weekend with a sinus infection, you better bet your ass I'm well rested and ready to go.

I've had this little baby burning a whole in my bookmarks for a while now and I've got to get it out before the whole catches fire. Big sound, just a bomb ass drop that reminds me of Quintino and just a ridiculously understated stormer. The 21 year old released this track on Nicky Romero's label, so you know it's going to be good. This one's getting spins from all the heavies, hell even Kaskade played it when I saw him at Revel over the weekend. Kaskade tested, Audio Aesthetics approved.

Zedd - Clarity + Live on Letterman

Artist: Zedd
Track: Clarity
Label: Interscope

I know everyone in EDM land today is losing their shit because Zedd was on Letterman and did an orchestrated version of "Clarity" with vocalist Foxes, but I think this is an amazing step in the right direction. Think about it. If we can have someone like Glitch Mob (who legit perform Live PAs) go on and perform live to show that it's more than loops and and button and bleeps, it would demonstrate the musicianship that goes into crafting each song beyond copy and pasting. I've heard multiple people say "yea, i could do that in 10 minutes, give me a computer", which is funny, because even if they don't have a DAW can you imagine them back in the days of actual analogue or hardware production? Yes, it's true that everyone is a laptop producer these days, but it's allowing new and groundbreaking music to be released at a breakneck pace, allowing each and every one of us to have a new track to hunt down after hearing it for the first time at the club this weekend. Some people hate the advent of "EDM" as the new it thing, the new rock revolution; but I love this shit. Makes me find new places to go that aren't packed with collared shirt college kids and gives me more people to go out with on a Friday to show.....

GTA, Digital Lab & Henrix - Hit It + Henrix - Rock This Dream

A
rtist: GTA, Digital Lab & Henrix
Track: Hit It
Label: Size

I told you, I told you, I told you; and no one listened to me. When I first heard "Let's Rave", I knew Henrix was going to blow up, I fuckin knew it. And you know what? Apparently Steve Angello did too, because the little ditty above was dropped at Size in the Park in NYC this summer and will be released on Size Records. This dude is ridiculous. Now take his new track "Rock This Dream" (below) and tell me what you think. Yeaaaa, I thought so. Dude should be renamed DJ Dole because he's his tracks are absolute bananas.
