Tommy Trash - Fuckwind

Artist: Tommy Trash
Track: Fuckwind
Label: white

My dude Tommy Trash doing what he knows how to do best, blow the roof off of clubs and create some seriously high energy productions. There is a certain "thing" about Tommy Trash productions that get a hold of you and if you like it, you're hooked. I've been hooked for a couple years and his Sunday afternoon performance on the mainstage of Ultra Weekend 1 solidified it for me.

Jerome Isma-Ae & Justin Michael ft. Novi - Awaken

Artist: Jerome Isma-Ae & Justin Michael ft. Novi
Track: Awaken
Label: Jee

There is something about Jerome Isma-Ae's sound that is almost indescribable. It's that perfect mixture of a few styles that you can't put your finger on but you know you would be wrong trying to anyway. Is it tech, prog, deep, dark, whatever? I don't really care either way. The cool thing about Isma-Ae's productions and live sets is that they take you on a journey, a quality that not many DJ's an producers share these days. This one is the first release on Jee under the Armada imprint so expect to hear quite a bit more from Jee in the coming years, as I'm sure you would anyways.

Fisherman & Hawkins - Virus

Artist: Fisherman & Hawkins
Track: Virus
Label: Coldharbour

If your a trancehead you probably are already familiar with Fisherman & Hawkins since their last hit "Apache" was probably the trance track of year. Utilizing the same formula the duo have crafted another stormer that blows the roof off every time it's played live. I can tell you from experience that this one bangs. Welcome to the weekend.

Moguai ft. Niles Mason - Can't Stop

Artist: Moguai ft. Niles Mason
Track: Can't Stop
Label: Spinnin

Mogui drops a massive massive track that kind of reminds me of a rock ballad or a really epic 70's rock song. It has actual song structure which is a welcome relief in these days of EDM. Actual lyrics, actual bridge, actual break; good god what's happening here. Then is dives into total festival worthy madness. Kudos to you, Mogui. The title is a bit generic but it'll do.

Ivan Gough, Walden & Jebu ft. Penelope Austin - Home

Artist: Ivan Gough, Walden & Jebu ft. Penelope Austin
Track: Home
Label: Big Beat

What's up with Ivan Gough bringing the heat all of a sudden? One big hit, then a bit of silence then bam, a whole bunch of solid big room tracks to keep the kids happy. I especially dig the pairing with Walden and seems that Jebu is sticking around as a production partner. This one is a big room, happy, big chord as it gets.

Mano Le Tough - Primative People (Tale of Us Remix)

Artist: Mano Le Tough
Track: Primative People (Tale of Us Remix)
Label: Permanent Vacation

I'm not even sure where I found the song at, all I know is it was magically in my bookmarks folder and now here it is for your listening pleasure. I don't have much of a background or real recollection of ever hearing this before, but this is one hell of a deep house record.

Markus Schulz - Remember This + Ferry Corsten ft. Jenny Wahlstrom - Many Ways

Artist: Markus Schulz
Track: Remember This
Label: Coldharbour

In honor of the New World Punx reprising their amazing performance about a year ago at Echostage in Washington D.C. (which I was lucky enough to see) I present the two newest from the trance legends Mr. Schulz and Mr. Corsten. I will be again making the pilgrimage down to our nations capital to catch what I think will be another legendary performance, and if you're in the area I stress you do the same. Welcome to the weekend.

Artist: Ferry Corsten ft. Jenny Wahlstrom
Track: Many Ways
Label: Flashover

Beat Service - Undercover

Artist: Beat Service
Track: Undercover
Label: Beat Service Audio

God I love Beat Service, and I'm pretty sure everyone knows it. I do believe they may have tied up Ferry Corsten for most blog posts about one artists. I mean can you blame me? If you're a member of the trance fam and really love trance it's hard not to love these guys, their tracks are literally at the heart of almost every trance producer's sets for a reason, because they are outstanding. If someone asked me to describe trance, I would simply say Beat Service.

Sandro Silva - Payback

Artist: Sandro Silva
Track: Payback
Label: Revealed

This one is as big as it gets ladies and gentleman. It's pretty tough to follow up your own monster track with another one and it looks like Mr. Silva has done just that. It has a hint of an 80's movie Eric Prydz kinda thing going on in the beginning but then it erupts in the usual fashion you would expect from a Sandro Silva track. Getting the Hardwell seal of approval and being releases on Revealed, this one is going to be making it's rounds for quite a while.

Dense & Pika - Colt

Artist: Dense & Pika
Track: Colt
Label: Hotflush

New fact I learned today: seahorses give their partners hugs every morning during pregnancy. New song I found today: this little gem from Dense & Pika off of Hotflush Recordings. There was something about this song when I first heard it, it was beautiful in it's own minimal way. I'm always a sucker for piano based tracks but this one just reminded me of a smoky basement in NYV a few years ago in the Lower East Side. With distorted kick and entrancing hi-hats it's easy to get lost in this one and let your mind wander for a bit.

DubVision - Rifler

Artist: DubVision
Track: Rifler
Label: Spinnin

Another great, high energy track from DubVision. You shouldn't really expect anything less from them by now. As we speak I am currently in Orlando gearing up for EDC Orlando. I have yet to be to a festival in Florida other than Ultra, so let's see how EDC does it in the hometown in Disney. Will report back massively hangover Monday. Welcome to the weekend.

Audien ft. Michael S. - Leaving You (Thomas Newson Remix) + New World Sound & Thomas Newson - Flute

Artist: Audien ft. Michael S
Track: Leaving You (Thomas Newson Remix)
Label: Zouk

I've had this one on repeat for a few weeks now, and it gets better and better with every listen. The lyrics are just poppy enough to allow a wide range of people to get into them and damn they are catchy. It's the drop though that does it, if you didn't know any better you would think this is a new Alesso track. Either way it's all smiles, so does it matter. However, I feel like the real star of the show is newcomer Thomas Newson. The Dutch producer has been releasing quality tracks for a year or but his newest one "Flute" below might make him a household name. "Flute" blasts off in a couple of weeks with the backing of Doorn Records, so expect to hear this one in a bunch of different variations.

Track: Flute

Michael Woods - The Pit

Artist: Michael Woods
Track: The Pit
Label: Diffused

Michael Woods is back ladies and gents, this time with a stellar, stellar production. This one is a big one if you've had the pleasure of hearing it on the big speakers recently. A breath of fresh air and departure from the usual, big chord, big drop, big room sounds you've been hearing lately. Woods incorporates an extremely catchy string section with a tech infused drop and a mixture of both in the break. Breath deep and get a whiff of something a bit different these days.

MAKJ & Henry Fong - Encore

Artist: MAKJ & Henry Fong
Track: Encore
Label: Hysteria

I've blogged about both MAKJ and Henry Fong prior so it's good to see them team up for that I can only describe as a "certified chair rockers". Those synths and bass line kicked in and I literally couldn't help doing a full blown chair rock. The formula itself isn't groundbreaking but I'm pretty sure I would enjoy this one live in the sunshine.

Don Diablo - Origins

Artist: Don Diablo
Track: Origins
Label: Spinnin

We have come so far in the world that this track is now the title track to a Batman video game, could you imagine that only a couple years ago? I can't because this track is pretty damn sick when you hear it on the big speakers, the sub bass rumbles pretty damn hard. I'm not posting it because it's an all out, hands in the air, festival tweaker. I'm posting it because Don Diablo has completely changed styles, has been banging out quality tracks and this one is going to be the lead in for a video game. Pretty damn cool.

Dohr & Mangold vs Jonathan Mendelsohn - Hurricane

Artist: Dohr & Mangold vs Jonathan Mendelsohn
Track: Hurricane
Label: Thrice

Just a solid cross genre track off of Armada here. Jonathan Mendelsohn's vocals are always welcome on a track in my opinion, especially when they are as catchy as this one. German duo Dohr and Mangold really put this one to the test with the harmonies, I expect this one to get banged out by all the usual suspects with remixes on deck. Welcome to the weekend.
