Titus1 ft. Kyle Jordan - Love Is Out There (Darth & Vader Remix)
Artist: Titus1 ft. Kyle Jordan
Track: Love Is Out There (Darth & Vader Remix)
Label: Orphan Music
As you read the I am neck deep in beats at the first day of Electric Zoo, so play that I make it out alive and still with hearing ability.
We've seen producer Hugo Castellon before when he dropped his two previous, phenomenal remixes HERE, but now my dude comes back with something melodically anarchistic. This preview is all that is available for now but you get the gist of it, it's incredible. Happy Friday. Happy Zoo Day. Happy Labor Day. Happy Everything Day. Welcome to the weekend you little bastards. :)

Silvio Carrano - Virus (Cashy & Tebron Remix)
Artist: Silvio Carrano
Track: Virus (Cashy & Tebron Remix)
Label: Moda Music
I want to apologize ahead of time for the trance heavy posts, but there's only so much face melting, progressive house a guy can take. It's all beginning to become the same over and over, you've heard one, you've heard a million. I think that's why trance was my first love and will always have a special place in my heart. It's dynamic, diverse, breeds individuality and on the most part has an actual song structure. The Silvio Carrano track is just catchy as hell and straight fire beats, nothing more. I'm not saying the song is life changing but its a hell of a jam I definitely started that gentle rock to in my chair.

Hellfire Machina ft. Infuze - Good Love (Erick Strong Edit) + Joachim Garraud ft Ze - I'm Invaded
Artist: Hellfire Machina ft. Infuze
Tack: Good Love (Erick Strong Edit)
Label: unreleased
I know this is a bit off the beaten path, but as an Erick Strong remix, whoa, just earth rattling bass. First it made me say, whoa, then it made me say huh? We profiled Erick Strong previously HERE and he had some real solid tech tracks, and I was very much in the thumbs up column on his music. Haven't really heard a lot from him since until this confuser/banger of a track.
Much like the new Joachim Garraud below, the departure from the usual style into breaks is very confusing, but enjoyable. I'm not trying to make any sense of it....
Artist: Joachim Garraud ft Ze

Dirty South & Alesso ft. Ruben Haze - City Of Dreams
Artist: Dirty South & Alesso ft. Ruben Haze
Track: City Of Dreams
Label: Phazing
You knew just by the name of who's on the track that this one is going to be huge, and rightly so, we have another anthem on our hands, Is it Dirty South that makes it, or is it the wunderking, Mr. Can Do No Wrong of the moment Alesso. There;s something about a track that is actual music that gets to people I think, makes them identify with ti a bit more than just chainsaw synths and blaring bass lines. Expect this one to be in a closing set here and there.

GTA ft. Zashanell - Problems + Sander van Doorn & Julian Jordan - Kangaroo
Artist: GTA ft. Zashanell
Track: Problems
Label: Mixmash
So here we are on a miserable Monday here in New York, with the rapture bearing down on us as the sky is pitch black and I'm pretty sure they're using canoes instead of cabs to pick people up from Grand Central. It seems like today may be as good as day as any to drop a couple of tracks I've been pretty conflicted about, listening to them over the past few weeks to see if my opinions change, and they haven't
The first track, GTA featuring the vocals of Zashanell seems like a fitting track for a day like this. I've listened to it a dozen times and I literally forget I'm listening to to every time, completely background music. Not to say it's a bad song, it's just something you're going to drive to while thinking about what you did last weekend. The on the complete opposite end of the spectrum you have the new Sander track where he teams up with EDM prodigy Julian Jordan to make the standard, in your face, big room, anthem track. I've been a huge fan of Sander's back to his tech days, but the whole thing now is getting a little formulaic. Just like there was this big shift a few years ago away from straight trance or straight house, I feel like there's going to be a bigger shift away from this generic progressive house song. Some producers and DJs are going to get tired of the cookie cutter song writing and the fact that everyone is pounding the same exact songs one set after another and break out with something completely different. When I find it, I'll let you know.
Artist: Sander van Doorn & Julian Jordan

Voodoo & Serano - Blood Is Pumpin'
Artist: Voodoo & Serano
Track: Blood Is Pumpin'
Label: Xtra Hard
Throwback Saturday And here it is. I mentioned it last week and it made me remember just how god damn good this song was. This really was one of the first songs that really got me up and going, making me see just how crazy dance music could be, that it didn't have to be house or trance or breaks or whatever. It could just be good, high energy shit to dance to. Now go get yourself a drink.

Jonas Tempel & Vincent Di Pasquale - Be You (Funkagendas Tubstep Symphony)
Artist: Jonas Tempel & Vincent Di Pasquale
Track: Be You (Funkagendas Tubstep Symphony)
Label: Toolroom
I'm not quite sure to make of this, but I really like it. Once the dub break dropped I went "ooooooof". That is some seriously delicious dubstep, and its relatively pretty too, without much of the squeaks and wonks you get from the amateurs. The lead into brings that energy level up to where he needs it to be and Funagenda literally does drop a dubstep symphony into your ears, just to bring it back again. I'm not sure why this track hasn't been dropped at the end of some people's sets because it's that god damn good. If I don't hear someone drop this at Electric Zoo I'm going to scream.

Nervo vs. Hook N Sling - Reason
Artist: Nervo vs. Hook N Sling
Track: Reason
Label: Spinnin
As the summer slowly begins to draw to a close I find myself wanting less and less music that makes me want to jump and more songs that just make me smile and think back about the good times I've had so far. No one wants to dwell on something ending so why not look back fondly and enjoy what you have left and make the best of it. I feel like this is one of those perfect songs, that you could put as the background track to your summer montage of pictures of the crazy times you've had with your friends smiling in the sun. Nervo have been doing a great job dropping catchy as hell progressive house jams all year, why not join up with Hook N Sling and drop another feel good sunshine jam to ride out the last few weeks of summer to. Sunshine all around.

Heatbeat - Chow Mein
Artist: Heatbeat
Track: Chow Mein
Label: Armada
Heatbeat is slowly gaining legendary status on this blog with what I believe to be their 5th post, and can you blame me, listen to this new one. The Argentinian duo continues to thrive in their own element mixing aspects of electo, trance, progressive and whatever else happens to be around into their productions and they all work brilliantly. It all started with "Trash & Shwarma" then escalated to one of my favorites "Roses Never Cry" which culminated in the now immortal Lange mashup "This is All Out". This track doesn't need a vocal but don't be surprised if you hear it mashed up in the future with one, it's that good.

Mikael Weermets & Nico De Andrea ft Yasmeen – I Found You
Artist: Mikael Weermets & Nico De Andrea ft Yasmeen
Track: I Found You
Label: Musical Freedom
Huge, huge track here, and if you're a fan of the blog you know that we're a huge fan of Weermets. The young producer came out of absolutely nowhere to destroy dance floors with his past release "Out of Control" (which I personally heard played by more than one DJ at the climax of their sets at EDC NYC) which in my opinion was a perfect track after we reviewed "Let It Go" first. Both were absolute monsters, and this new one is no exception. Musical Freedom has a real rising star on their hands with the young Swede, expect to hear this one banged out for the next few months by all the heavies.

My Digital Enemy & Rob Marmot - African Drop (Tom Staar Remix) + Original
Artist: My Digital Enemy & Rob Marmot
Track: African Drop (Tom Staar Remix)
Label: Wall Recordings
The original version of this has been getting banged out all summer all over the magic island, but its the Tom Staar remix that really does it for me. Take that vocal sample, the rolling bass line, add that Wall signature sound and you got yourself a peak time energy banger. Five house energy with a press play.
Artist: My Digital Enemy & Rob Marmot
Track: African Drop
Label: Wall Recordings

Gareth Wyn - Sandstorm
Artist: Gareth Wyn
Track: Sandstorm
Label: New State
Throwback Saturday, but not really. Gareth Wynn with he masterful remake of the Darude classic "Sandstorm". No explanation needed, just an updating of an old favorite. Now all I need is some to do "Blood is Pumpin". Now go get yourself a drink.

Cryogenix - Fire Like This (Daddy's Groove Re-beats)
Artist: Cryogenix
Track: Fire Like This (Daddy's Groove Re-beats)
Label: Spinnin
Ohhh weee, Friday beats drums extravaganza! Daddy's Groove puts their touch on this fire Cryogenix song by taking the best elements of the drums and the vocal sample and creating a whole new big room anthem. There is production work and remixing at such a higher level that others can't comprehend, and this is one example. Perfect high energy head banging music to get you ready. Welcome to the weekend.

Steve Aoki ft. Polina - Come With Me (Jidax Remix) + Jidax vs Daft Punk - Harder, Stronger Resistencia (Thomas Gold Edit)
Artist: Steve Aoki ft. Polina
Track: Come With Me (Jidax Remix)
Label: Ultra
Wow. That's all I have to say for this one. We know how high energy Steve Aoki's music and live shows are, but Jidax brings it to a whole nother level with this remix. Group that in with the Thomas Gold Edit of Resistencia and you have yourselves a French duo ready to hit the big time in a big way. These chords aren't big room, they're huge room. If there was a room bigger than the big room that's where their music would be played.
Artist: Jidax vs Daft Punk
Track: Harder, Stronger Resistencia (Thomas Gold Edit)
Label: Dim Mak

Alesso ft. Matthew Koma - Years
Artist: Alesso ft. Matthew Koma
Track: Years
Label: Refune
Alesso, the kid is unstoppable. I'm sure being mentored by members of the Swedish House Mafia plays a part in his amazing harmonics and straight up musicianship, but his tracks really are second to none for anthems. Think about his past tracks: "Raise Your Head" , "Dynamite" & "Loose It" , "Pressure Remix" ; these are all top notch, big room, festival anthems. The Swede have most definitely taken over and it doesn't look like there's a changing of the guard anytime soon, not with hands in the air jams like this.

Nicky Romero & Zedd - Human
Artist: Nicky Romero & Zedd
Track: Human
Label: Interscope
Nicky Romero and Zedd bringing the hot, hot heat with this track. These two are a perfect pairing in my opinion, even more so than Romero and Hardwell. Nicky and Hardwell have very my the same style, almost too complimentary in musical philosophy. While Zedd is a touch more abrasive in his melodies and sampling, I think it goes great with Romero's grand melodies and smooth transitions. Both are huge stars on the rise and this is another perfect festival song to go under both their belts.

Swedish House Mafia ft. John Martin - Don't You Worry Child
Artist: Swedish House Mafia ft. John Martin
Track: Don't You Worry Child
Label: major
Well here it is, the supposed last and greatest Swedish House Mafia production. Take it for what it is, these three guys really did change the game for everyone and helped really usher EDM into the mainstream. Be it a good or a bad thing, we're all living in a place in history that will be looked back on and people will ask "Hey, where were you when Swedish House Mafia played MSG" or "Hey, how many times did you go to Electric Zoo/EDC/Ultra/ect." Though all these of these guys are great producers and DJ's in their own regard, together they created history. Apparently it's time for them to take a step back as a group, and the song may be the perfect mood as a goodbye.

X-Press 2 ft. David Byrne - Lazy
Artist: X-Press 2 ft. David Byrne
Track: Lazy
Label: Skint
Let's take it back to 2002 and hopefully bring back some memories of maybe a better time or just some good times in general. X-Press 2 teaming up with David Byrne was ground breaking in the day and this song most definitely has stood the test of time. Not the melt your face off dance floor killers are today, but this track is a classic ten years later. Awesome toe tapper while still keeping your cool. Perfect to get ready to go out to. Now go pour yourself a drink.

Afrojack - Rock the House
Artist: Afrojack
Track: Rock the House
Label: Wall
If you're gearing up for the weekend there's no better track than the new one from Afrojack, the man never fails to deliver. High energy house music at it's best, which that signature Afrojack flair. I do have respect for Afrojack, he's one of the very few (along with William Orbit who tragically produced Madonna's album), that can go mainstream and still garner the respect and admiration of his EDM peers. This one's built for a Friday night. Welcome to the weekend.

Alpha Duo ft. Julie Harrington - Still Far Away (Millaway Vocal Remix) + Alpha Duo - ASOT 550 Anthem
Artist: Alpha Duo ft. Julie Harrington
Track: Still Far Away (Millaway Vocal Remix)
Label: Trance All Stars
I love listening to Sean Tyas' radio show because he finds little gems from smaller labels and artists that nobody bothers to listen to or pick up. The guy puts in the time and does his homework. His style really isn't for everyone, but if your a fan you know what I'm talking about. This release off of Trance All Stars is very much exactly what I'm talking about. He ups the BPM to the perfect driving tempo and allows the track to do the work it's supposed to. The break around 1:40 lets you know exactly where this story is going and you better hold on for the rolling bass line ride. Just a solid, solid trance song that is the definition of feel good energy.
Oh, you may also remember the production team from winning A State of Trance 550's wild card spot for the anthem below.
Artist: Alpha Duo
Track: ASOT 550 Anthem
Label: Armada

Denzal Park - Amarok
Artist: Denzal Park
Track: Amarok
Label: Neon Records
I really liked this track the first time I heard it because of where it takes you. At first it sounds like any other progressive house jam with the distorted bass line and samples but then takes you somewhere else. This Australian duo is huge in their home land but have really made a minimal impact on American soil but I feel like this soulful groove might catch a few people's ears and gain some support to build a little following. This one's a certified toe tapper and there's nothing you can do about it.

Michael Tsukerman - Pegasus
Artist: Michael Tsukerman
Track: Pegasus
Label: Soundpiercing
Something new from the Aramda sub label Soundpiercing, a smooth rendition something great that again can't be defined by genre. Depending on who you are and what crowd you are playing tom this song could literally be universal. I could see this dead in the middle of an Armin set and then I could also see a remix of this in the middle of a AN21 & Max Vangelli set. That's the great thing about dance music, that even though so many people really find the need to group it or categorize it, it really doesn't need to be to be appreciated.

Eddie Thoneick & Norman Doray - Celsius
Artist: Eddie Thoneick & Norman Doray
Track: Celsius
Label: Size
Who would've thought that Eddie Thneick would've paired with Norman Doray to make a track like this and release it on Size nonetheless? This is a perfect example of how big Size is becoming in such a short period of time for releasing a slew of face melting bangers. They found a formula and are prospering mightily from it. Power chord and progressions, right up your alley to get out of that Monday funk.

Ferry Corsten - Beautiful
Artist: Ferry Corsten
Track: Beautiful
Label: Flashover
Throwback Saturday. This track has actually been coming back in a big way recently, just an example of how timeless and amazing it is. Seeing him play this live at Pacha in the dead of winter a handful of years ago might have been a highlight for me, definite goosebumps. Now go get yourself a drink.

Oza & Vitodito - Kawaii (Dirty Club Mix) + Original
Artist: Oza & Vitodito
Track: Kawaii (Dirty Club Mix)
Label: Zouk
If you look up feel good in the dictionary there is a picture of this track with a big "PRESS PLAY" button next to it. The original below definitely gas that very Italo-techno feel, and for good reason, these two or of the many talents coming from the boot shaped country. I personally prefer the "Dirty Club Mix" because it bumps up the energy a bit, but both selections are perfect for a Friday. Listen to the original below when your gearing up and the club mix when you're getting ready to go out. Welcome to the weekend.
Artist: Oza & Vitodito

Jerome Isma-Ae ft. Gil Ofarim - My Breath Has Been Taken
Artist: Jerome Isma-Ae ft. Gil Ofarim
Track: My Breath Has Been Taken
Label: Gee
Let's go back to back Jeome Isma-ae posts on this one, because he really is that good. I'll group him in with the likes of Angger Dimas and Mat Zo of DJ's and producers who are amazing and make some of the best music you never realized was theirs. Unfortunately there is no high quality version of the song online yet, but I don't care, this is power chord music and I love it. Great vocal, progressive house here; and if you're feeling no vocals they have hat version too.

Above & Beyond pres. Tranquility Base - Razorfish (Jerome Isma-Ae Remix) + Mike Foyle & ReFeel - Universal Language (Ahmed Romel Remix)
Artist: Above & Beyond pres. Tranquility Base
Track: Razorfish (Jerome Isma-Ae Remix)
Label: Ajunabeats
I've been sitting on these two guys because I wasn't really sure where they fit into the grand scheme of things. Does anyone really appreciate new takes on old trance songs like I do? Will anyone care what I write here? Probably not. But first things first. Jerome's take on "Razorfish" is far different than Ahmed's take on "Universal Language", but both are beautiful their own ways. Universal Language is definitely a special occasion record I would listen to every once in a while, but you're lying if you tell me you're not shaking your ass a bit to Razorfish. Case closed.
Artist: Mike Foyle & ReFeel
Track: Universal Language (Ahmed Romel Remix)
